Picture of the Day // Kuningan Day Celebration


Kuningan Day is the last day celebration after 10 days of Galungan day. For Balinese, the celebration is to celebrate victory of the Dharma over Adharma (the triumph of good over evil). It marks the time when ancestral spirits of deceased relatives visit the Earth. Their God (Ida Sang Hyang Whidi) is giving blessings ang prosperity to the whole world. It is also should be done before noon, before before gods and goddess’ return to the heavens to continue their asceticism.

Kuningan day, is celebrated every 210 days, ten days after Galungan. That also marks the end of the Gaungan holiday.
